Description
The story behind the 1883 Racketeering Nickel: When the first Liberty Head V Nickel was produced in 1883, some unscrupulous people gold plated the coin and passed them off as the new "5 Dollar Gold Coin". The reason that they were able to get away with it was because the US Mint had not put the word Cents anywhere on the coin. Only the roman numeral of V or 5 on the back. After learning from their mistake, the US Mint put the word cents on the nickels produced after 1883. One coin per quantity.Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
