1892 Liberty Head V Nickel 5 Cent Piece MS 63 NGC 5c Uncirculated US Coin
A genuine 1892 Liberty Head V Five Cent Piece Coin, graded and certified MS 63 by NGC. NGC holder has some damage to the top left hand corner, obverse side.
When first issued in 1883, Liberty Head Nickels (or "V" nickels) bore just a large Roman numeral "V" for the denomination. So the Mint soon added the word CENTS to stop con artists from gold plating them and passing them off as gold pieces.
