1892 Liberty Head V Nickel 5 Cent Piece- XF/AU Details, Reeded Edge!

1892 Liberty Nickel for sale. The coin pictured is the exact coin you will receive. The edge of this coin is very finely reeded and the word CENTS has been removed on the reverse. I have only seen this on 1883 "racketeer" nickels, so possibly this was altered in an attempt to pass off as a gold piece in the 1800's and the gold plating was removed? It has been holed at some point and was harshly cleaned, possibly in a light acid. An interesting and unique piece of early US history.
