    Description

    Large brass ? monkey / chimp holding a magnifying glass.  I have no history on this item.  Unmarked.  Bronze in color.  Approximate measurements at the largest areas - 7 1/2" high x 9" ( outer edge of foot to outer edge of one hand ) x 7 3/4" ( edge of tail to front edge of foot ).  Nicely detailed - nice face.  One hand is cupped and holds a magnifying glass that is also unmarked.  Approximately 4 7/8" long.  Made of metal - bronze in color - may be a heavy patina.  Part that holds the glass has a ribbed edge on both sides.  The ribbed piece just below the glass turns and loosens the ring so the glass comes out.  Bottom of the has an etched ? tight lattice type design.  Nice condition but needs cleaned.  The chimp is in excellent condition.  Unpacked weight of both items is approximately 3 pounds 5 ounce.
